Hello, I’m Robyn, a dedicated and experienced humanistic counsellor committed to helping children, young people, and adults navigate life’s challenges. My approach to counselling is integrative, which means I draw on a range of therapeutic techniques to provide a holistic and tailored service that meets your individual needs.

My Background and Approach

As a humanistic counsellor, my practice is grounded in empathy, understanding, and respect for each person’s unique experience. I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and change, and my role is to support you in uncovering your inner strengths and resources. My training includes a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, including person-centred therapy, transactional analysis, gestalt therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). This allows me to offer a flexible and personalised approach, ensuring that our work together is both effective and aligned with your specific goals.

Qualifications and Professional Standards

I am an accredited member of the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS) and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I adhere strictly to their ethical guidelines, which include regular professional supervision, maintaining an up-to-date enhanced DBS certificate, and holding professional liability insurance. These standards are important to me as they ensure that I provide a safe, ethical, and high-quality service to all my clients.

My Practice

Currently, I offer a range of counselling options to fit your schedule and preferences. On Mondays, I provide telephone and video call sessions, while on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I also offer in-person sessions at the Lotus Therapy Centre in Mansfield. This flexibility allows us to work together in the way that suits you best, whether that’s remotely or face-to-face.

Beyond my private practice, I am actively involved in supporting young people with complex needs. I currently work with Core Psychology Services, where I am part of a dedicated therapy team at an independent school providing specialist education and care for children and young people aged 5-18. This includes addressing social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, as well as complex issues such as attachment disorders, trauma, high-functioning autism spectrum disorder (ASD), pathological demand avoidance (PDA), and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Additionally, I work with children’s residential homes, where I help young people navigate the challenges they face in a supportive and therapeutic environment. I also provide telephone Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) sessions through PAM Wellbeing, offering support for employees dealing with personal and professional difficulties.

Experience and Voluntary Work

My journey as a counsellor has been enriched by a wide range of experiences. I have volunteered with Cruse Bereavement Care, where I supported adults and young people through their grief and loss, helping them find ways to cope and move forward. I have also worked with CASY, providing counselling to young people in secondary schools and community settings, working with issues such as anxiety, depression, bullying, and self-esteem.

Choosing to start counselling is a significant step, and I am here to support you every step of the way.
